We highlight use of walking-distance campus apartments (above), which have been the primary choice of attendees, staff and speakers alike, but Raleigh does offer a variety of good-quality hotels.  In past years, we arranged a special rate for P-POD registrants at 100% non-smoking hotels that were rated at least at 4 stars out of 5 in Tripadvisor reviews and whose price range seemed reasonable for attendees, and we always sought to arrange shuttle service to the conference from at least ONE hotel.  We found NO hotel able to offer shuttle service for Raleigh 2022.  Up through 2018 the highest-price hotel we listed each year never had a nightly rate greater than $99 + tax, and for 2019 that was $109, but from 2022 onward we believe higher prices will often be necessary in Raleigh.  For our June 2022 conference we have arranged two room blocks, one at the Wingate, below, one of the closest hotels to the conference (3.5-3.7 miles).  It has appealing amenities and had been well received by speakers and attendees in early P-POD years.  Its listed price range $125-$135 + tax expires after June 14.  The other, Red Roof, shown farther below, is 4.2 miles away, has fewer amenities and its lower listed prices ($94 + tax Fri. or Sat., $75 + tax Sun.) expire after June 19.
