Kerrie Saunders, MS LLP PhD holds a doctorate in Natural Health and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, and her background spanning psychology, addiction issues, nutrition and body composition assessment is quite unique in the United States. She is an internationally known presenter and consultant whose work has been featured through the media of television, radio, books and magazines. She is author of the bestseller The Vegan Diet as Chronic Disease Prevention, now in its third printing, and co-author of General Guidelines: A Standard of Care for Preventive and Integrated Medicine. She also authored Supine Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis for the Institute for Functional Medicine, and created the first successful application and oral defense for supine Body Composition Assessment, for the American Medical Association’s CPT Code.
Dr. Saunders supervised the world’s first multi-university interdisciplinary curriculum for medical schools on the use of food in medicine, in conjunction with Plant Based Nutrition Support Group. She is a Certified FirstLine Therapy Health Care Provider, founder of the Michigan Firefighter Challenge, and a past Cancer Project and Diabetes Food for Life instructor through the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. She was a featured expert in the iThrive Diabetes and Obesity, and Eating You Alive, movie documentaries, and co-star of the When Bachelor Meets Homemaker food demonstration DVD series.
