Paul Chatlin

Founder and former Executive Director, Plant Based Nutrition Support Group (Michigan)

Lecturer at employment and medical institution sites regarding the potential for establishing plant-based nutrition programs

Paul Chatlin was diagnosed with heart disease in 2013.  His cardiologist gave him two options:  immediate heart surgery, or lifestyle intervention through a whole food plant based diet.  Paul chose the latter.  Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn of the Cleveland Clinic called him the very next morning, and his journey to health began.  After just 3 weeks of whole food plant-based eating, Paul's heart disease symptoms dramatically reduced.

Paul promised himself that if he could find a way to avoid surgery, he would then give back to others.  Soon after, the Plant Based Nutrition Support Group (PBNSG) was born in Michigan.  PBNSG was founded in 2014, and in 2021 now has more than 8,000 members.

In addition to making his contributions to PBNSG, Paul has spoken publicly to share his story, at numerous locations including 14 General Motors facilities and 20 Beaumont Hospital campuses in Michigan.
