How to Register for the In-person Philadelphia Oct. 5, 2025 Day
Registration has been open for virtual livestream tickets for P-POD's Sunday Oct. 5 day for a long time, but we have begun in June the registration for the in-person Philadelphia option.
IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND IN-PERSON, you should do TWO things:
(1) Get a "VIRTUAL" ticket for Sunday Oct. 5, if you don't already have one. This covers the 8-hour educational program. Your Sunday Oct. 5 VIRTUAL ticket can be for that day only, or can be a 4 or 5 day bundle that includes Oct. 5.
(2) Get an "UPGRADE TO IN-PERSON" ticket. This covers your attendance at the in-person site, use of facilities, 3 whole food plant-based meals, etc.
That's it, and one visit and one checkout at registration online will do it. Outside ticketing fees add $2 to each ticket.
So, use these links as needed:

All PRICE information for upgrading to in-person is HERE, part of the prices.p-pod.org page.
Philadelphia Local Public Transportation Very Close to P-POD
Central Philadelphia, where P-POD will be located, is well supplied with public transportation resources offering frequent service, most notably several rapid transit rail lines, as well a large number of bus lines in the streets. We will give a few links that may be helpful, before describing the nearest train lines in detail below:
-
The Google Map BELOW on this page red-flags our conference site, 1300 Locust St. Philadelphia PA 19107, and one of the "M" symbols close by it is the most useful "Walnut-Locust"train station we will describe in this section.
-
The SEPTA organization has its Regional Rail and Rail Transit route map HERE, and if you find the "Walnut/Locust" station near the lower right, you can see its orange Broad St. line and other train lines connecting with it.
-
SEPTA's "Trip Planner" HERE is the best tool for plotting out options for public transit from any Point A to Point B, at any moment. Route options are mapped visually, with minutes for each part (including any walking).
(1) MOST PRACTICAL PHILADELPHIA LOCAL TRAIN for reaching P-POD is the ORANGE-CODED BROAD ST. B1-B2 LINE STOPPING AT WALNUT-LOCUST STATION.
From that station, one would walk roughly 960 feet (1/5th-1/6th of a mile), south on Broad St. then east on Locust St. to reach the P-POD site at 1300 Locust St. Philadelphia PA 19107.
The orange-color-coded SEPTA Broad St. line B1 local trains travel north-south from Fern Rock Transit Center to NRG Station, and the B2 express trains go between Fern Rock and a final stop at Walnut-Locust.
Changing from Other SEPTA Trains/Trolleys to the B1 or B2 Trains
-
Many SEPTA lines connect to allow a walking-distance transfer from their own stations to the 15th - City Hall station on the B1/B2 Broad St. trains, after which the NEXT station southbound is Walnut-Locust. At least half a dozen regional rail lines connect this way via their massive Suburban Station. which has an underground SEPTA Center City Pedestrian Concourse leading to the 15th St. and Market station on the major blue-coded Market-Frankford L line and then the 15th - City Hall station on the B1/B2 line. Even SEPTA trolley routes 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36 (T1 through T5) connect to the 15th - City Hall station at 15th St..
-
Passengers from the SEPTA trolley route 15 (G) and the SEPTA B3 "Spur" (from stations such as Chinatown) can connect at the Girard stop to the Market-Girard station on the B1-B2 Broad St. lines.
(2) Walking distances from the Suburban / 15th St. / City Hall complex of stations
If it seems worth considering to walk to P-POD from the huge Suburban Station which is served by at least half a dozen regional rail lines, rather than navigating through the underground shop-lined concourse to change to the Broad St. B1-B2 line, then:
Walking distance is quoted as 0.6 miles (3/5ths of a mile), typical time 14 minutes.
From the 15th St. and Market station on the major blue-coded Market-Frankford L line, or else from the various SEPTA T1-T5 trolley routes at 15th St., the quote is half a mile, typical time 11 minutes.
(3) The other train station close to P-POD
The 12th-13th St. station on Locust St. could not be closer to P-POD, however its train has only three other stops in Philadelphia, and no useful connections with any other Philadelphia trains, so very few people on the Pennsylvania side of the river could benefit from it. It has nine New Jersey stations starting with Lindenwold, which connects with the NJT Atlantic City route, and has a free park-and-ride available at Ferry Ave. Camden NJ station. However, it is controversial. It is run by PATCO, not SEPTA, and publicly-acknowledged increasing sanitation and maintenance problems in recent years at its Philadelphia stations (including 12th-13th St.) led PATCO in March to shut down overnight service for six months to attempt a nighttime deep-cleaning crash program to try to improve conditions and reputation. P-POD cannot predict the results of these efforts, so we regard the SEPTA train services (see (1)(2) above) as more deserving of our recommendation for use, or at the least we wish participants to be mindful of our concerns.
"The Amtrak P-POD Conference": Coming by Train
Half of P-POD's speakers are coming by Amtrak! Philadelphia's Amtrak station, third most-traveled one in the U.S., is just 1.5 miles from P-POD and from one of the three hotels where rooms are set aside (only 630 feet, 1/8th mile away).
-
Amtrak location: William H Gray III 30th St. Station (PHL), 2955 Market St., Philadelphia PA 19104.
-
Amtrak Philadelphia-included service corridor ("Northeast Corridor") providing extremely frequent train-scheduling and, when planned reasonably ahead, generally findable options for affordable travel:
-
Main stations: Washington DC (Union) - BWI Airport - Baltimore (Penn) - Wilmington DE - Philadelphia (30th) - Trenton - Princeton Jct. - New Brunswick - Metropark - Newark Airport - Newark (Penn) - New York City (Penn/Moynihan) - New Rochelle - Stamford - Bridgeport - New Haven (Union) - New London - Westerly - Kingston - Providence - Rt. 128 - Boston (Back Bay) - Boston (South Sta.)
-
-
