Transportation and Parking
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, 6000 North Terminal Parkway, Atlanta GA 30320, 1-800-897-1910, is 10.1 miles from the conference site (Loudermilk Conference Center), and is served by 18 domestic and international airlines. There are numerous forms of ground transportation that may be taken from the airport into Atlanta, such as MARTA train, shuttles, taxis and rideshare services. Please note that 2 of the hotels for which P-POD arranged attendee group rates are between 1,800 ft. (about 1/3rd mile) and 2,000 ft. (3/8ths mile) walking distance from the conference site, thus a rental car is likely not necessary for air travelers using them. Note also that if the MARTA train is boarded at the airport, then the 8th stop on that line is Peachtree Center station, and one of the P-POD-arranged hotels listed below on this page, Courtyard, is 115 feet northwest of one of the station exits.
Atlanta is also accessible via Amtrak train at its Peachtree Station (different from Peachtree Center),1688 Peachtree Street, NW, Atlanta GA 30309, on the historic Crescent route running between New York City and New Orleans. At our Loudermilk Conference Center site, there is a large parking garage connected to the building, for which our hosts arrange a maximum $8/day parking charge, through validation of your parking stub at the conference.
Hotel Options: 2 for People without Cars, 1 for People with Cars
Atlanta is an expensive hotel marketplace, but we have negotiated fairly reasonable P-POD rates at two hotels, and we added a third option at a bit higher pricing level (Courtyard) to replace the Residence Inn (across the street from it), whose P-POD room block already expired. All are rated at 4 out of 5 level in Tripadvisor reviews: two of them are about 1/3rd to 3/8ths mile walking distance from P-POD and have extremely high parking fees, so we designate them for people without cars; one of them is 6.9 miles driving distance from P-POD and has just $5/day parking fees, so we designate it for people with cars. All are detailed below. Note that the higher-priced option Courtyard below, for people without cars, has P-POD rooms expiring Sept. 30th, 3 weeks before P-POD, so please book it very soon if you are interested. If you take the MARTA train from the airport, then the train's 8th stop is Peachtree Center, and Courtyard is about 115 feet northwest of the station's exit at Carnegie Way and Forsyth St.
