Elizabeth Winings, DNP APRN PMHNP DipACLM completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and Mental health, and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees at the University of Florida Gainesville, and is licensed as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner by several states. She is also board certified as a Lifestyle Medicine Diplomate, and serves as an
Assistant Professor at Jacksonville University Keigwin School of Nursing, Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences. In 2020 she founded Winings Wellness as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner outpatient care team practice, and has long served as an event speaker for the Esselstyn Foundation and as Medical Co-Director for Behavioral Health Changes at Engine2 Diet and Lifestyle Immersions.
Dr. Winings has throughout her career provided evidence based and clinically proficient psychiatric mental health care to children and families, with special emphasis on facilitating communication within families. She has been a passionate advocate for preventive mental health care, teaching principles of healthy living across the lifespan and specializing in the relationships among diet, lifestyle and mental health. She integrates attention to plant-based nutrition into her practice, and she completed her doctoral internship in nutrition and lifestyle medicine at True North Health Center, Santa Rosa CA, and earned a Certificate in Plant-based Nutrition from T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies .
Dr. Winings highly values education and sees herself as a lifelong learner, constantly seeking to refine skills and supplement knowledge. Likewise she is devoted to her opportunities to help impart knowledge to future generations of practitioners as an Assistant Professor, including via the numerous Clinical Preceptor relationships she has had with students over the years since 2016. Prior to her work with Jacksonville University and Winings Wellness, she co-founded The Retreat at Ponte Vedra Beach, Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, an outpatient psychiatric family wellness center serving an exclusively pediatric population.
